Designed for your body

The fit takes shape on your skin.

If you want a custom tattoo and care about how it flows across your body, we can explore a freehand approach. Drawing on the skin with a marker allows us to work on the direction of the lines, proportions and the relationship between the elements in your chosen placement.

There is preparation behind the design: we discuss references, composition and size. Drawing on the skin develops that plan, lets you see how it fits and gives us room to adjust it before tattooing.

From idea to tattoo

How we plan your freehand project.

  1. Idea and references

Tell me what you want to represent, where you want it and roughly how large. We review the images you like and plan the composition and how it will sit on your body.

  2. Drawing on skin

The design takes shape on your body in marker. We work on its scale and flow, taking the shape and movement of the area into account.

  3. Review and adjustments

You see the drawing, we discuss it and make any adjustments needed. Tattooing only starts once you are happy with the design.

The technique follows the design

Freehand and stencil: two ways to bring a drawing to the skin.

A stencil transfers a design prepared in advance onto the skin. With freehand, the drawing is made directly on the skin, allowing the composition to be adapted to the body's contours as it develops.

The difference is in how the drawing is placed and built, not in giving up references or a review. We assess which approach suits your idea; not every piece needs the same technique.

Questions about your freehand tattoo

Can I review the drawing before getting tattooed?

Yes. You see the drawing on your skin, we discuss the composition, scale and how it fits your body, and make any adjustments needed. Tattooing only starts once you are happy with the design.

Do I need to bring a finished design?

No. You can send an idea and visual references. To get started, explain what you want to represent, the body placement and approximate size. The design develops from that conversation.

Does freehand suit every project?

It depends on the idea, placement, scale and composition. It can be useful when the flow of a drawing and its relationship with the body are important. We discuss whether it is the right approach for your piece during the consultation.

How much does a freehand tattoo cost?

The quote depends on the design, placement, size and sessions needed. Send your idea so it can be assessed. You can read how pricing works and the booking terms on the working process page.
